LOST IN AMERICA FOUNDATION

Right now, in your community, there are youth, who desperately need our help accessing food, lodging, safety or perhaps a bus ticket to get home. Children are experiencing increased stress, neglect, abuse, exploitation, and domestic violence. Lost In America is raising funds for organizations that work with homeless youth. LOS ANGELES ROOM & BOARD

1 in 5 community college students will experience homeless. Food and housing insecurity can lead to poor health, depression, and high levels of stress which in turn undermines academic success. Los Angeles Room & Board’s Opportunity House provides safe and affordable housing to UCLA, Santa Monica College, West LA College and Cal State Northridge students who cannot afford campus housing.  Students will be provided three meals per day. Your gift will help house the first 35 students during the 20/21 school year. Please click here to donate. Check out this video below of the field placement site at UCLA >>

SANTA MONICA COLLEGE FOUNDATION - MEAL PROJECT

Santa Monica College Foundation's MEAL PROJECT is delivering 7 fresh, nutritious meals each week to vulnerable students who are struggling with food insecurity. Your gift will support SMC's foster and homeless youth who will be housed at the Opportunity House. SMCF has committed $50,000 to provide 12 SMC homeless and/or foster youth students with nutritious meals and housing. Your donation provides direct aid to students facing critical food insecurity. With over 50% of SMC students facing food insecurity before the pandemic, the increased need is staggering. Please click here and donate. Just $44 will support a week's worth of meals for students in need.

JOVENES

Jovenes works with youth, ages 18-25 by providing essential housing and supportive services to youth experiencing homelessness. Our youth are staying safe, however most of them have experienced a loss of employment as the pandemic impacts the economy.  Our goal is to end their cycle of homelessness by focusing on housing, healthcare, education, employment and trauma recovery.  We empower those we serve because we believe that homelessness does not define our youth.
